Ubisoft is a French multinational video games developer and publisher created by 5 brothers in 1986 that employed 10 000 people. Leader in France and 3 biggest developer in the world. They have more than 30 studios in 30 different countries.

WHAT IS THIS HR INNOVATION ABOUT?

Ubisoft are receiving many applications and spend few time looking at Cvs. Therefore, they prefer hiring people with creative applications,who already fits the company’s culture. The more creative the application is in terms of form and content., the more they have chances to be call for an interview. They want to know the dreams and hopes of their future employees. Indeed, they are joining a family in a convivial spirit: "There’s lots of trust and lots of confidence. That’s essential to the culture here and is something that I cherish.”

They spend a lot of time getting to know their employees. Indeed, if someone wants to leave they can help them to by looking for another job or school.

WHY WAS THIS INNOVATION IMPLEMENTED?

They are few games designer in the world, therefore making sure they feel comfortable to be creative and perform is crucial.They do not believe in Employee Retention which is qualified a old concept, if employees want to leave, it is better if they do.

“Passion” is all that matters at Ubisoft. Employees are expected to be ambassadors, deal maker and sellers of dreams.

WHAT ARE ITS MAIN BENEFITS?

  • Good external reputation: they are attracting more talent as they proposed a good experience for both parties even if employees want to leave

  • Better performance: employees want to stay so they are motivated
