Professional Selfies, L'Oréal Reinvents Recruitment
L'Oréal is the world's largest cosmetics company and has developed activities in the field of cosmetics, concentrating on hair color, skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfume and hair care; the company is active in dermatology, toxicology, tissue engineering, and biopharmaceutical research fields and is the top nanotechnology patent-holder in the United States.
WHAT IS HR INNOVATION ABOUT? In recent weeks, L'Oréal, with its 300,000 followers LinkedIn, offers to post a professional selfie on the network (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter). As part of its “Are You In?” they just have to briefly describe their "inspiration“, picking up one the 12 “In” words, to give their favourite colour and choose a piece of music. More than 8,500 selfies were published, which led to nearly 4,000 nominations. These have led to 25 job interviews and to 3 recruitments at L'Oréal to date.
